Welcome John nice to have you here. Just ignore the rude welcome by a few. There are bigger issues in life than making a few spelling mistakes, good grief what a reason to make someone feel unwelcomed. What are we going to do to someone who actually might do someone that is actually a bit offensive? hunt them down and cut off their left hand! Blasting a guy because of something petty as this reminds me of a few other drumming/music forums that have become nothing but a joke.

No problem Jonathan599 you will make a mistake too man, and everyone thanks for the welcome, I hope I feel here in a nice enviroment for drummers.

I have been on this board for 3 years and have seen some bad apples some along the way but the way John was spoken/reacted to was wrong period.
The posts which were rude were not done because of suspicion but because of spelling or improper sentence formation issues. Aside from that I hope we do not go down the road of being suspicious of people if they have not done anything wrong YET! And surely we can hold back from offending people until they actually deserve it.

(I don't want to go into details, but basically there were some imperfections in their spelling so he had them rounded up and sent away to a special island with no pens or computers where they could never cause offence again, and every three weeks Jonathan 559 flies out and lectures them to make them feel bad about themselves, and he reminds them that just the other day he went onto an internet forum whose primary language was Guatemalan, and his first post was word perfect, I mean just spot-on language wise, so what the hell was their problem, right?)

While some above-posted comments may be rude to some, they are there for a reason. Unfortunately it has happened more than once that a certain individual has created multiple accounts, pretended to be friendly and then screwed people over in trades or suddenly become impolite. A characteristic this individual had was awful grammar - that explains the "rude" posts. While harsh, it's important to send out messages that HoD is not a place to come and mess around at.

It's sweet seeing some of HOD's finest policing the site. That's the best way to bring the high standard back and maintain it: put out the jerk alerts and deride the quick smart mouths that think they're so clever and cute.

I say saddle up the posse and ride over to the Modern Drummer=No Knowledge thread and hang 'em high over there too; there's an offender in them parts long overdue being ridden out of town. Don't forget the tar and feathers, hoss. [img]wink.gif[/img]
